Favorite High School Memory: Who was your secret crush in high school, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did, favorite beverage?

I think the whole experience of living in the mid 70's in small town where things were easy and simple was very memorable. On a trip through town just last night I stopped at Pete's and ordered a burger "with". It was a nice to feel so comforted by something as common as understood communication! As I get older, I appreciate those memories more and more.

My crushes were mostly on the girls of the class of 1972. So many had cars. They mesmerized me and were very easy to flirt with. But I had no real idea what to do with them, that was the embarrassing part.

Pepsi is still my favorite drink.

If you could design your name tag, what would you put on it?

Hort, I've always liked being Hort.

What have you always wanted to do but haven't yet?

I passed on buying a 1965 Impala with only 48,000 miles on it in Rochester this afternoon - so I guess that's not it!

Looking back, I have a had a really good life. I spent a lot of time with family raising kids and chasing a living, maybe a little too much - but we all do that. That has been the most important stuff.

I have always wanted to have some success as a singer, and have done a lot of amateur singing in the past. But now I have some vocal chord issues and I am not sure what of my voice might come back.

I still want to find the perfect places to "give back". I still want to be stinking ,filthy-ass rich too.

Hind sight is 20-20, if you were a freshman again in 1971, what would you do differently?

I wish I had been a better student but I must say I made the best of my time in Prairie. I made and kept a lot of good friends over all of these years. Many from other classes. Many from different walks of life for a high school kid to know. That was fun and I still see some of them.

Words of Wisdom:

Advice was quick to fall from my mouth during my youth. I think most of us had examples, mentors, roadmaps to follow then - it was easy. At this age it seems that there are many choices to be had but the path, for ourselves, is harder to know. I try to stay open to new things but I mostly stick to the basics, work and play hard, don't be foolish, and be thankful for all my blessings
